What we work on

Working Areas of YASEN

Five interconnected areas where youth energy meets Nepal's environmental and social challenges.

Climate education & community engagement

We lead climate-literacy campaigns, school programs, and awareness events on climate change, sustainability, Loss & Damage, DRR, the SDGs, and pesticide awareness — building a culture of environmental responsibility through interactive sessions, art-based engagement, and local campaigns.

One Health approach

Human, animal, and environmental health are deeply interconnected. By linking health systems with environmental and climate resilience efforts, we reduce health risks, protect ecosystems, and advocate for the rights of those most impacted — especially youth, women, indigenous, and marginalised groups.

Climate & gender justice, women's empowerment, youth leadership

We champion intersectional climate justice by amplifying the voices of women, girls, and marginalised youth — through leadership development, entrepreneurship programs, and empowerment training that put equality and inclusive governance at the forefront.

Waste management & sustainable agriculture

We promote organic farming, composting, upcycling, and waste reduction at household, school, and community levels — linking agriculture and waste management to support circular-economy solutions and climate-smart rural livelihoods.

Capacity building & advocacy

Structured training programs, workshops, and advocacy platforms build leadership, communication, and policy-engagement skills — empowering youth to participate meaningfully in national and international environmental processes.
